BLACK HENNA DANGERS

CAUTION!!!!!

BLACK HENNA

Please be aware that there are artists out there that add chemicals to their henna that can be dangerous.

Henna should never be BLACK, the paste may look black when drying but when it is placed on the skin it should be a brownish green to a very dark green in color.

The stain should never look like black ink. If it does, wash it off the skin immediately by running under cold water. Watch the area closely and seek medical attention.

BLACK HENNA SCARE

The Picture to the left is from a "BLACK HENNA" tattoo. This is why you should never have "BLACK" henna applied to you. It has chemicals that will burn the skin and leave a permanent scar.

A Certified Henna Artist guarantees that they do not use PPD as part of their paste. You can not be certified if you do. And your Artist must be willing to disclose their ingredient list to you.

Disclaimer - Just because an Artist is NOT certified does not indicate that they use PPD. You need to ask for their list of ingredients!!!

Remember: TRUE Henna comes only in one color and it is a dark greenish color when being applied to the skin and once dry it can appear almost black. However the stain is still from orange to dark chocolate in color depending on the individual's chemistry. NEVER BLACK.
